The selection for the camera novice

I picked this book and another by Kelby (The Digital Photography Book) based mostly on reviews from this web site and proposals from many photography forums. When the 2 are compared, it's no contest Miotke's book wins hands down. that is to not say that Kelby's book is terrible, it is, in fact, quite good.
The Betterphoto Guide provides a comprehensive overview of digital photography and explains the inspiration on that it's based mostly. Technical components like exposure and light-weight are clearly explained in a simple to know and succinct manner. As my understanding of the various parts increased, I quickly moved far from the automated settings on my camera (Canon Powershot A630) and also the quality of my photos soared.
Another vital element of the book deals with the inventive components of photography (Composition). What, how, and why are all mentioned and every one the suggestions are immediately applicable. once reading this book, i used to be able to compose higher photos with a tighter focus and, additionally, have gained a bigger appreciation and understanding of other's work.
There also are chapters that debate the actual parts of a digital camera. These facilitate the reader become "acquainted" with his/her specific camera. Overall, I notice this a superbly illustrated book that gives a solid foundation on that to launch your photographic endeavor.
